Special Scoop - Paris Hilton's Attorney - Don't "Rush to the Judgment"

Paris Hilton was arrested on suspicion of felony cocaine possession, her attorney Chernoff has released the following statement --  "Paris Hilton was released this morning on her own recognizance. This matter will be dealt with in the courts not in the media and I encourage people not to rush to judgment until all of the facts have been dealt with in a court of law. There will be no interviews and no more comments at this time."
The Policeman found an undisclosed amount of cocaine in the heiress' purse late Friday in Las Vegas, according to the Associated Press. Citing sources, TMZ reports that she told police the purse did not belong to her. Paris  Hilton was linked to drugs twice this summer.  In July, she was detained in South Africa for alleged marijuana possession (charges were later dropped when a friend said the pot belonged to her).
A few weeks later, reports surfaced that Paris Hilton was stopped in France after local authorities found less than a gram of marijuana in her purse. Hilton denied the second incident on Twitter, writing
"The stories saying I have been arrested are completely false !!!"

Paris Hilton Cocaine Arrest

In this video I am aptly calling ‘One Night In Vegas’ Paris Hilton is seen being questioned by Las Vegas  police after she and her boyfriend were pulled over on the strip around midnight Friday night. A small crowd gathered around the Escalade watching intently as a group of officers performed a search.  Not long after, she is cuffed and stuffed after police reportedly found a small amount of cocaine in her purse. Her boyfriend, Cy Waits, was arrested as well for driving under the influence.  Paris Hilton’s cocaine arrest came at the end of a pretty nasty week for the heiress. It began with a crazed man waving a knife, banging on a window of her house. News choppers swooped in to catch her in only a towel after the man was led off. Then, one of her favorite singers, Lady Gaga, decided to rip her a new one in Q Magazine. After all of that, she wrapped up the week spending a few hours in a Vegas holding cell.  As with most celebs, Paris has the lawyer juice. TMZ reports that she has hired powerhouse attorney David Chesnoff to represent her. The outlet also wrote that she would use the ‘ole “it wasn’t my purse” defense. If you remember correctly, she was reportedly nabbed with pot in South Africa during the World Cup 2010, but managed to use a similar strategy to skirt charges.

Exclusive : Paris Hilton uses the "it wasn't mine" defense after being hit with cocaine possession charge

Paris Hilton is using the "it wasn't mine" defense after she was busted with cocaine late Friday night on the Las Vegas strip. Hilton and boyfriend Cy Waits were stopped outside the Wynn Hotel after cops spotted what they suspected was a large plume of marijuana smoke coming from a Cadillac Escalade that Waits was driving. Waits, a Vegas nightclub mogul, was arrested on a DUI charge, cops said. The officers searched Hilton's purse and found cocaine and took her in on a felony drug charge, according to authorities. The pair were booked at Clark County jail around 2 a.m., police said. Hilton was released early Saturday morning. Waits, 37, is being held until he can be arraigned. Hilton quickly hired high-faluting Vegas lawyer David Chesnoff, who said Saturday morning he's still gathering facts about the arrest. "But I caution people not to rush to judgment," he said. Friends who spoke to Hilton, 29, after the arrest told TMZ.com the cocaine filled purse didn't belong to her. Hilton used a similar defense last month at a World Cup match in South Africa, where she was busted for possession of marijuana. The charge was later dropped. Hilton took to Twitter Saturday morning to inform fans she was "In bed watching Family Guy" around 6 a.m. "Love this show.! So hilarious! Stewie is my favorite :) love his accent," she wrote, mentioning a character on the animated program. "Going to bed. Sweet dreams everyone. Xoxo Paris :)" she tweeted about an hour later. Earlier this week, Waits pulled a gun on an armed intruder at Hilton's Los Angeles home. He forced the knife-toting trespasser to drop his weapons and lay down on his stomach until police arrived. "So Scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes," the hotel heiress wrote under a Twitter photo of the suspect cuffed on her lawn.

SPECIAL EXCLUSIVE - Paris Hilton's Powerful Connection To Las Vegas Mayor

Paris Hilton - has some very powerful connections in Las Vegas, thanks to her new attorney David Z. Chesnoff, RadarOnline.com has learned.  Paris Hilton turned to Chesnoff to represent her against a drug possession charge following her arrest in Las Vegas Friday night.  Chesnoff partnered with Oscar B. Goodman to open his firm in 1987, and they worked so closely on cases they sometimes even assisted each other.  Goodman was elected Mayor of Las Vegas in 1999 but remained Chesnoff's partner for another two years. He ultimately decided in 2001 to retire from the firm and spend all his time on city business.  Who Have Done Jail Time  The boutique law firm eventually became Chesnoff & Schonfeld, but Chesnoff and Goodman remain close.  Paris, of course, is a Vegas fixture and she's often crossed paths with Mayor Goodman. Just last May, they both made donations of their unique footwear to a charity called Goodie Two Shoes Celebrity Shoe Auction.  Paris Hilton's Champagne-Soaked Party  Whether her connection to city hall will help her beat her drug-possession wrap will be closely watched, but RadarOnline.com has confirmed that the heiress was not required to post bail following her bust.

Uh !!! Paris Hilton arrested for cocaine possession in Las Vegas

Paris Hilton has had a rough week.

After a man tried to break in to her house wielding two knives, the heiress and former reality tv star was pulled over in Las Vegas for what police believed was the smell of marijuana coming out from the windows.
Well, that's not surprising. No secret she likes to toke. Depending on who you believe, she   was detained in both South Africa and Corsica for pot possession.
But cocaine is a whole different animal.Paris Hilton was not driving the car but she had a substance on her which later tested positive for cocaine. She was later released on her own recognizance, which means it wasn't a lot of coke, and there has been no comment since.
So...it'll remain to be seen how this shakes out. Will she head to rehab? I don't think so. Paris' whole thing is to deny, deny, deny and play the victim in it. She does it expertly, much better than Lindsay Lohan.
But her people aren't returning emails and phone calls, so I'm sure there's some strategy going on there.
Obviously jail doesn't seem so scary anymore after spending some time there back in 2007 for her DUI and subsequent driving on a suspended license. Check back here as this story continues to develop.
